We (Moni & Rick) are working on a piece for Sneaky Squatch PDX, a citywide immersive art hunt to find many unique Bigfoot creations hidden across Portland, Oregon during Geek Week PDX, September 11 - 20.
Over summer 2026 we will build our life-size Sasquatch from recycled materials. The head, hands and feet will be made from sculpted cardboard and paper mache. The body will be made from waste-stream fabric including coffee sack burlap. The aesthetic will be similar to our PDX Monsters puppets, though with a brown color palette instead of neon colors.
We'll be documenting our Sasquatch-building process here, as well eventually as on the PDX Monsters instagram page.
Making marquettes to explore various designs and construction methods in a smaller scale. Here Moni is using a combination of the techniques developed building PDX Monsters, along with the "Decorative masks with DIY paper mache clay" method Moni teaches as a class.
More documentation to come...
Again we'll be borrowing heavily from our PDX Monsters construction methods, but this head will be built as a over-scale wearable mask allowing our Sasquatch to be either displayed or worn.
