Keep Portland Monstery...

Deep in the industrial fringes of North Portland, at the bottom of alley suspected as a habitat of trolls, a mysterious krewe of monsters musters... as scrap cardboard, used shopping bags, expired political signs, and old plastic bottles are reassembled into wondrous new forms...

Do YOU have an inner trash monster waiting to be released upon the world?Then get ready to warm up your glue gun and rev your sewing machine motor in preparation to join us!

Drop an email to monsters@goblinart.com if you are interested in receiving updates on future monster making occasions at our secret lair. These will not be formal workshops--instead envision a collaborative gathering of monster-minded, eco-crafty, recycling-passionate folks who want to give some poor abandoned garbage a new life (one that just happens to include lots of extra eyeballs and tentacles).

We will be sharing our monsters at various community events around North Portland in 2026, for the delight of all those who behold them, while inspiring people to give their garbage a second chance through artistic reuse and crafty upcycling.

Also, we may be looking for folks to carry/perform extra trash monster creations at future events! If that excites you, please let us know--we love volunteer helpers! Some monsters are backpack-mounted puppets, but most are simple heads on sticks. No puppetry or performance experience needed, just email monsters@goblinart.com for more details.

Wonderwood “Alpha-Bestiary: A Monstrous Menagerie” Grand Opening
Saturday January 17th, with PDX monsters from 4-6pm.
We will be appearing at the grand opening of Mike Bennett’s latest project, an A-Z monster and cryptid-themed indoor mini-golf course, 7410 N Chicago Ave, 97203. (The full event runs 10am-8pm).
Portland Winter Light Festival
Friday Feburary 6th - Saturday February 14th, 2026.

Roaming costumed creatures: Monsters of Troll Alley. We'll be downtown at Director Park 7:30 to ~8:30. After the illuminated bike ride leaves, the monsters will wander through Pioneer Square, then end at the monster window display at 851 SW 6th Ave.

Portland Mardi Gras Parade
7pm, Tuesday March 17th 2026
N Albina & Mississippi. 0.8 mile night-time parade on gradually downhill ground with good overhead clearance. All friendly monsters invited to join us! Highly-illuminated costumes (i.e. LED lights) strongly recommended. We are a registered Krewe at this event. Please email us ahead of time and plan to meet us at our designated parade line-up spot no later than 6:30pm.
