Monica is a maskmaker and sculptor originally from New Zealand, now residing in Portland, Oregon with her husband and son.
She made her first series of masks in 1995 as part of a BFA degree, then following a brief foray into physical theater and puppetry she opened the Goblin Art mask studio in 1999. Since then Monica has created and sold more than 4000 masks for art and craft shows, gallery exhibitions and internet sales.
She has worked on masks and props for film, television, theater, the fashion industry, and for book and album cover art. Notable clients include the Cirque du Soleil gift shop, the 2007 film The Wicker Man, and the British metal band Iron Maiden.
Monica scaled back her maskmaking in 2007 after becoming the parent of a wonderful, creative son, and she enjoys working on many art projects with him.
