On the work table this week

I have decided to turn my "on the work table" postings into a regular series. So here is what I have been doing in the studio over the last couple of weeks:
Revisiting the glasses mask idea (red mask on left),
and a new mask sculpt (goblin face on right)...
Another variation of my classical sun mask..
A new paint technique that gives a much richer,
more textured finish for my thermoformed masks...
and finally getting the stiffened felt domino masks
to work out the way I had originally planned.
I'm trying to get ten to twelve hours a week in the studio at the moment. That's still not enough time to get the website set up for orders again, but it feels good knowing I will at least have some pieces to send to the New Orleans mask shop in time for Halloween.

"Masks" booth at Faerieworlds 2010
(Goblin Art + Nymbol's Secret Garden)

And somehow I missed that Faerieworlds had moved back to July this year! (When it moved to the Midsummer dates last year, we couldn't do it due to a schedule conflict with June). So while we aren't vending this year, we look forward to putting on our own masks and festive attire and enjoying it for once as participants! (Still, hopefully we'll be back in the booth for Faerieworlds 2013).

  1. Nice to see you posting again. I was beginning to wonder if you'd dropped off the face of the planet.
